Located at the network crossing points between Mexico and the United States, the new PoP further improves Sparkle’s IP Transit offer to the Mexican market

Rome / El Paso, 20 November 2018

Sparkle, the International Services arm of TIM Group and among the top ten global operators, announces the expansion of its global IP Tier-1 backbone with a new Point of Presence at MDC Data Centers (MDC, formerly McAllen Data Center) in El Paso, Texas.

The new PoP in El Paso adds to the existing Points of Presence in McAllen, Dallas and Laredo, strengthening Sparkle’s reach on the US-Mexico border as well as the performance of its global IP Transit service Seabone.

Sparkle operates one of the most interconnected networks in the world and has consistently ranked as one of the top ten IP Transit providers worldwide and #1 in America. Additionally, Sparkle is the only Tier-1 backbone able to offer a real diversification from South America to the US via the Seabras-1 cable, ensuring complete redundancy and reliability.
