Chairman and CEO
Alessandro Talotta

Alessandro Talotta has been appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sparkle, respectively  in July 2015 and in December 2014. Previously, he was Executive Officer at Telecom Italia National Wholesale Services.


A computer scientist with a strong business administration expertise, Alessandro has developed a true passion for innovation and technological transformation in his over 25 years career in the telco business, which he starts at Italian manufacturing Italtel as Senior Manager Strategic Planning and Marketing Development. In 1996 he joins Italian operator Infostrada as Head of Strategic Planning and National and International Interconnection.


Alessandro moves to Telecom Italia in 2001 as Head of Operational Coordination. In the same year he is appointed Head of Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Project Management and Pricing in the National Wholesale Services department.


As Executive Vice President he manages the entire National Wholesale Services organization through 2008 when in April that year he is appointed Telecom Italia Group’s Chief Regulatory Officer and member of GSMA CRO Group, positions he maintains through 2011.

Claudio Zezza

Claudio Zezza has been appointed Vice President Administration, Finance and Control in November 2014.

Previously he was Chief Financial Officer of TIM Brasil, which he joins in 2008 after acquiring an extensive international experience as Corporate Controller of Telecom Italia Mobile international Subsidiaries.

Claudio joins Telecom Italia Group in 1990 and his first years he manages several activities, among others Strategic and Planning & Control, International Business and Financial Plans, Consolidation and Reporting, Investor Relations, Merger and Acquisition. Claudio holds a degree in Business Administration from the University “ La Sapienza” in Rome.

Carlo De Martino

Carlo De Martino has been appointed Vice President Institutional & External Communication in January 2015. 

After graduating in Law from "La Sapienza" University in Rome, in 1994 Carlo collaborates with several communications agencies dealing in public relations between 1995 and 1996 when he joins Telecom Italia.

From 1996 to 2002 he holds positions of increasing responsibility in the Communication Department until 2000, when he becomes head of the Telecom Italia Wireline Press Office.

From 2001 to 2004 Carlo is Vodafone Corporate’s Press Officer.

In December 2004 Carlo moves back to Telecom Italia to head TIM’s Corporate Press Office through 2006 and at a later stage head of Telecom Italia Group Press Relations. He is TIM Brazil’s Head of External Relations from the end of 2008 through 2010. In 2011 he is responsible for Telecom Italia Corporate Communication and in his last assignment in Telecom Italia Group was Head of Media and Opinion Makers Relations.

Legal & Regulatory Affairs
Carlo De Gennaro

Carlo De Gennaro has been appointed Vice President Legal & Regulatory Affairs of Telecom Italia Sparkle in March 2011.

Carlo joined Telecom Italia in 2002 with responsibilities for the coordination of the Group activities on corporate governance issues. He was Secretary of Telecom Italia’s Board of Statutory Auditors and Organismo di Vigilanza and supported the General Counsel on Board of Directors, Internal Control Committee and Remuneration Committee related matters.

Before 2002 Carlo, admitted to the Italian Bar, worked at law firm Gianni Origoni Grippo & Partners Rome office and in Assonime, the association of major Italian corporations operating in the financial, industrial and services fields. He held various teaching positions at Luiss University of Rome and wrote for prominent law publications.

Carlo has graduated in Law from LUISS University in Rome

Patrizio Montali

Patrizio Montali has been appointed Vice President Compliance Officer in March 2017.


Previously he was Vice President Human Resources from August 2014 to February 2017.


Patrizio joined Telecom Italia Group in 2003 and he has covered over time various managerial positions in the Human Resources and Organization department developing an extensive expertise in domestic and international markets, especially  in Latin America and Europe.


Before Telecom Italia Group, he held several positions of responsibility and gained experience in different industries such as Information Technology, Petroleum Refining and Mobile Telecommunications. During these years Patrizio was also Chairman of the international subsidiaries of a well-known multinational group.
 

Business Development
Riccardo Pieralice

Riccardo Pieralice was appointed Vice President Business Development in February 2017. 
Previously he was Vice President Business Development and Positioning starting from October 2015 and, prior to that, he was in charge of Strategy and Business Development as of August 2010. 

He has been working in Sparkle since 2004 supporting the development and rationalization projects for Sparkle’s Group Subsidiaries.

He joined Telecom Italia Group in 1992. From 1992 to 1995 he was senior analyst in Strategy Department at corporate level and then moved to International Operations from 1995 to 2004 where he held different roles and responsibilities within Planning & Control Dpt., acting as a controller and participating to several M&A projects in that period.

Before joining the Telecommunication Group he worked for Eli Lilly, a US pharmaceutical company,  as a manufacturing plant engineer & planner and as treasury analyst. He began his career in 1998 as a radar system engineer in Elettronica S.p.A.

He holds an MBA from the Bocconi University in Milan and a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from La Sapienza University of Rome.

Giuseppe Valentino 

Giuseppe Valentino was appointed Vice President Line of Business IP & Data in February 2017. He joined the company in 2003 and he has held senior positions within Sales, Product Management and Innovation departments.

From 1996 to 2002 he worked for GTS/Ebone, a pioneer in IP and cross-border fiber backbones development in Europe, with business development as well as sales responsibilities.

He started his career in 1991 at ICT manufacturer Italtel as Project Engineer and worked at Bell Labs in Denver, Colorado, between 1994 and 1995 as coordinator of a joint development program between Italtel and AT&T, now Alcatel-Lucent.
 

Line of Business Voice & Mobile
Stefano Olivieri

Stefano Olivieri was appointed Vice President Line of Business Voice & Mobile in October 2015.

Previously he was in charge of Marketing Voice Operation as of January 2006.

Stefano started his career in the telecommunication industry in 1990 at Italcable as Carrier Relation Manager for the Far East and has developed a strong expertise in international wholesale voice and mobile data services. In 1993 he moved to Hong Kong where he was responsible for market entry strategies in the Far East and the development of the international services offer in the region. In 1996 he moved back to HQ where he took the responsibility of market analysis, identification of new market segments and targets, and LCR offer development.

In 2000 he was appointed Director of International Wholesale Marketing Voice. In this position he was in charge of the company’s strategic marketing for wholesale Voice and International Roaming. 

Stefano Holds a Degree in Business & Administration from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.

Zvika Caspy 

Zvika Caspy has been appointed Vice President for East Europe & Mediterranean  in February 2017. 

He joined Telecom Italia Group in 1997 as Director of Sales and Marketing of MED-1 Submarine Cables. At the time one of the pioneering private submarine cable project worldwide which he supported from its very inception, he developed a specific expertise in the commercial dynamics of the submarine cable industry.

Prior to this appointment, he held various responsibilities within Sparkle group from 2010 onwards focusing on the European and Mediterranean regions. 

Prior to joining the Telecom Italia Group he held several commercials positions in the telecommunication and financial sectors.

He holds an MBA from Boston University.

Leonardo Cerciello

Leonardo Cerciello has been appointed Vice President Sales for Asia, Africa & Middle East in February 2017. 
After a long experience in Sales, he was Vice President Marketing since December 2012 and prior to this role he had managed the Voice Services Business Line.

Leonardo began his career in Telecom Italia in 1994 and he has gained a wide international experience and expertise in the TLC industry being responsible also for various senior positions within Sales Department in Europe, Africa and Middle East.
In such role he has implemented a selective customer approach, leveraged existing investment and boosted Telecom Italia Sparkle market position expanding company’s customer base for Voice and Data Services.

From 1996 to 2000 he served as Country Manager in London and in Frankfurt.

Leonardo Cerciello holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and he is a Certified Public Accountant.

Laurie Bowen

Laurie Bowen was appointed as CEO, Telecom Italia Sparkle Americas, in April of 2016.  She is responsible for Sparkle’s voice and data business in North, Central and South America.  

Laurie joined Sparkle having spent over 30 years in the IT and Telecommunications Industries. Recent roles included President, Global Enterprise at Tata Communications and CEO, Business Solutions, at Cable and Wireless Communications.  This follows a career at IBM of over 20 years.  

Her strengths and experience lie in driving growth strategies, new ventures and innovation with specific focus on strong customer relationships. 

Laurie also serves as Non-Executive Director of Ricardo, plc – a leading global engineering, strategic, technical and environmental consultancy business headquartered in the UK. 

Laurie holds two engineering degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, as well as an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.  She is based in Miami, Florida.  
 

Network Operations & Provisioning
Massimo Massaro

Massimo Massaro has been appointed Vice President Network Operations & Provisioning in August 2016. 

He started at Italcable in 1990 with the responsibility of the International Operation & Maintenance Center in Palermo. 
He coordinated several TI Group’s investment projects in Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Cuba, Serbia, USA, France, Tunisia, Oman, developing a strong expertise in International Wholesale and Retail Services.
In 1997 Massimo was in South America to build the first Pan-American telecommunication companies of TI Group: Etecsa Cuba and Bolivia, Telecom Argentina and Entel Chile. 
From 2007 to 2016 Massimo has held different roles and responsibilities in Customer Assurance and Delivery and in Network & Service Operations Center within Telecom Italia Sparkle and TI Group.

Massimo holds a degree in Electronic Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Palermo.

Americas Transformation Project
Mario Pirro

Mario Pirro has been appointed Vice President with the responsibility of the “Americas Transformation Project” in March 2017, after holding the role of Sparkle Compliance Officer from August 2016.

Previously he was VP Technology from December 2012, and VP Network Development and Operation from August 2010. 

When leading this role he was in charge of Planning, Engineering and Development of Sparkle Group Network and IT infrastructures as well as of Provisioning, Assurance and Customer Care for Sparkle Wholesale and Corporate Multinational Customers.

He also acted as member of the Board of Directors of a number of companies of the Sparkle Group.

Prior to that Mario was Director Services & Network Engineering within Sparkle Network Dept as of March 2003, leading the design and development of Sparkle Voice & IP backbones and OSS platforms. In the past he held various positions in Telecom Italia International and he spent several periods of time abroad contributing to international TLC services standardization and testing. 

Mario holds a degree in Electronic Engineering and an Executive Development Programme certification from INSEAD.
