Telecom Italia Sparkle expands its Global IP Backbone reach in Europe with a new POP in Stockholm

The new POP will support the increasing demand of IP transit service in the Nordics and Russia

TI Sparkle, the International Services arm of Telecom Italia Group, announces the expansion of its Global IP Backbone with a new IP POP in Stockholm, Sweden.

Located at Telecity in Bromma, the first independent carrier neutral facility in the Swedish market, the new POP will address the increasing demand of IP Transit service coming from the Nordic countries, an area which is in fact experiencing double digit growth in IP traffic.

With this new POP, TI Sparkle intends to capture the demand from major ISPs, OTTs and global Content Players that have already established their presence in the area. In addition, TI Sparkle will provide IP connectivity to Russian players who consider Stockholm as one of their main European hubs.

The Stockholm POP will increase TI Sparkle’s Global IP Backbone capillarity in Northern Europe and will further improve the performance of TI Sparkle’s Global IP Transit Service Seabone offered to OTTs, Content and Service providers in the region, and at the same time will provide eyeballs with an overall higher Internet experience.

Seabone is TI Sparkle Tier1 Global IP Transit backbone that ranks among leading IP networks in Europe, #1 in Latin America and in the Mediterranean. While consolidating its global role, Seabone is strengthening its regional positioning globally and especially in Africa and Asia where it has reached leading positions.
