Telecom Italia Sparkle expands Ethernet IP Transit and MPLS access in Europe with a new POP in Amsterdam Vancis

TI Sparkle, the International Services arm of Telecom Italia Group, has expanded its high speed access capabilities to its Seabone IP Transit and Lan2Lan services with a new Pop located in Amsterdam Vancis.

The new point of presence not only adds to Sparkle¹s global backbone capillarity but also provides a more cost efficient access to Sparkle¹s Global IP Backbone Seabone, especially catering to the needs of customers with lower traffic requirement as it substantially reduces cabling cost through a simple in-house connection.

Seabone is TI Sparkle Tier1 fully IPv6 enabled global IP Transit backbone that ranks among top 10 worldwide, #3 in Europe and 1# in the Mediterranean. While consolidating its global role, Seabone is strengthening its regional positioning in Africa and Latin America where it ranks #2, as well as in Asia where it has reached position #3.

With Sparkle Lan2Lan customers can extend Ethernet technology from a local environment to anywhere in the world using Sparkle IP backbone as a transport layer. Ethernet over MPLS transport enables point-to-point and point-to-multipoint connections throughout the extensive Seabone footprint. The point-to-multipoint option allows one single port to connect to multiple locations thereby optimizing traffic and infrastructure, and further reducing the total cost of ownership.
