Sparkle Supports Fondazione Ortygia in the Professional Development of Female University Students in Sicily

Sparkle joins the “YEP - Young Women Empowerment Program”, offering a mentoring experience to future professionals in Digital Humanities, a key skill set in the age of artificial intelligence

Sparkle, the first international service provider in Italy and among the top global operators, renews its participation for the sixth consecutive year in “YEP – Young Women Empowerment Program”, an initiative promoted by Fondazione Ortygia to support the personal and professional growth of female university students in Southern Italy. As part of the project, Sparkle will foster the development of young women in Sicily - a strategic region for the operator - with a particular focus on Digital Humanities.

The Young Women Empowerment Program aims to provide the next generation with the tools to make informed and thoughtful academic and professional choices, helping them better orient their future careers.

In this context, Sparkle will support Sicilian students enrolled in master’s degree programs in Digital Humanities at the University of Palermo and the University of Catania by pairing them with female managers in a one-to-one mentoring program.

Through exchange and dialogue with their mentors, the students will not only gain greater awareness of their own potential as they prepare to enter the job market, but will also have the opportunity to engage with a high-profile organization with an international outlook and strong local roots.

“We are pleased to renew, for the sixth consecutive year, our collaboration with Fondazione Ortygia and with Sicilian universities, and in particular to support students in Digital Humanities programs by strengthening the link between our company and a field of study that is becoming increasingly central in the era of artificial intelligence,” said Enrico Bagnasco, Chief Executive Officer of Sparkle.

The initiative is part of Sparkle’s broader commitment to education and innovation. Sicily - where the company has developed the Sicily Hub, a strategic node for data traffic exchange in the Mediterranean - thus continues to stand out as a privileged environment for the growth of new professionals capable of interpreting the cultural, social, and ethical impact of digital technologies and addressing the challenges of an interconnected world.
