Sparkle Becomes a Google Gold Verified Peering Provider (VPP)
Gold-tier status recognizes Sparkle’s ability to provide simplified and highly available connectivity to Google services through its global Tier-1 Seabone backbone
Sparkle, an international service provider in Italy and among the top global operators, today announced that it has achieved Gold-tier status in the Google Verified Peering Provider (VPP) programme, recognizing its ability to provide diverse, reliable, and redundant connectivity to Google’s global network and a simplified way for customers to access Google services.
The Google Verified Peering Provider programme includes internet service providers (ISPs) that have demonstrated diverse and reliable connectivity to Google. VPPs manage the peering relationship with Google and provide enterprise-grade internet connectivity to enterprises and service providers, allowing them to access Google services without the complexity of establishing and managing Direct Peering connections.
As a Google Gold VPP, Sparkle provides connectivity to Google through its high-performance IP connectivity services, leveraging the global reach and resilience of its Tier-1 Seabone backbone. Customers can access all Google services reachable over the internet, including Google Workspace, Google Cloud APIs, Cloud VPN, Google Public IPs and Network Service Tiers, relying on Sparkle for connectivity to Google.
The Gold-tier designation specifically recognizes Sparkle’s redundant and geographically diverse connectivity to Google across multiple metropolitan areas, providing an additional level of resilience and helping ensure reliable access to Google services.
Sparkle’s status as a Google Gold VPP builds on the extensive global footprint of Seabone, which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary. Today, the Tier-1 IP backbone spans a 600,000 km proprietary and fully redundant fiber optic network, reaching customers through 126 PoPs and TeleHouses worldwide and providing resilient connectivity to the global Internet.
