Telecom Italia Sparkle, a leading global telecommunication service provider, and Mobile Tele Systems (MTS, NYSE: MBT), the largest mobile phone operator in Russia and the CIS, have established a direct connection to be used for international voice traffic.
COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), the leading provider of integrated telecommunication services in Russia and the CIS, and Telecom Italia Sparkle S.p.A., one of the major telecom operators in Europe, a member of Telecom Italia Group, announced today a contract to provide connectivity between their long-distance communication networks and deliver international voice transit service.

Leveraging on its extensive proprietary fiber optic footprint, Sparkle adds two new IP Points of Presence in Prague and Bratislava to its worldwide top ranking Seabone Internet backbone.
