Description
Sparkle Multi Regional Packet Gateway as a Service is a service based on Roaming Local Breakout capability (LBO), the mechanism that allows data traffic to exit (or "break out") closer to the user’s location instead of routing it through the home network or distant core infrastructure.
This approach is particularly effective for roaming users and latency-sensitive IoT deployments (e.g. High-Frequency Financial Trading, Autonomous Vehicles, Smart Factories, Telesurgery, Cloud Gaming, AR/VR, Drones, Air Traffic Control). Roaming data traffic can therefore be handled locally rather than being sent back to the home country or a central data center.
Multi Regional Packet Gateway as a Service is addressed to:
- Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) seeking improved data performance and cost savings
- Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) looking for efficient data traffic management solutions
- Sparkle Multi-IMSI (ORS) Customers
Major benefits:
- Ultra-Low Latency: By routing traffic locally instead of through a remote gateway, latency is drastically reduced. This is critical for real-time applications such as video streaming, cloud gaming, IoT and VoIP. Additionally, when roaming, users can access local content faster, improving browsing and app performance.
- Optimized Network Performance: Reduced congestion and faster speeds improve Quality of Service (QoS) and overall user experience.
- Regulatory & Compliance Benefits: Some countries require specific data traffic to be handled locally due to data sovereignty laws.
If the customer is interconnected with a SPARKLE IPX-GRX peer nearby, the benefits are maximized. However, the solution can also be provided with non-SPARKLE IPX-GRX peers.
Sparkle has a continuously expanding network of owned PGWs, integrated within its global core network, with presence in Europe, the Americas and beyond.
